great guide like aways , at 0:11 how do you link consistantly the forward Hp after the head press, i cant figurout the exact time it whiff more then it connect

Sometimes when I do the 8k combo at the end I get burned out sometimes and sometimes I dont, idk why. I’m not doing OD rise the second time either, only OD stomps, full drive gauge. So I’m just confused lol

Akuma's problem in SF6 is that the entire cast is very strong, too, because SF6 is the most balanced SF has ever been. In SF4 and SF5, Akuma just happened to be top-tier in a game full of low and mid-characters. Low-tier characters haven't been a thing since the end of SF5. It aint fun when the rabbit has the gun.

Despite all of this, I still see no reason to pick him over Ken or Akuma, which is the problem as no one wants to play him. All the stats still have Ryu as near the bottom in winrates in 1750+ MR and tournaments. And it's not like he's common at high ranks either. He has some of the lowest legend representation.

I'm 10 mins in but this guide is excellent. Will def have to bookmark and keep coming back to it now and then, but I love how you broke down options per button. Thanks for your work!

I agree with basically everything you said, except his OD fireball into SA1 is super inconsistent midscreen (Capcom please 🙏), but in the corner yes it can be very powerful. I do think Ryu is a little undervalued. Probably because he genuinely wasn’t very good at the start of S1. I hope some more top players put some time into him.
